We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
Our goal for the 2023 Annual Campaign is to raise $50,000.
It's ambitious. But we can do it. We HAVE to do it.
Here's why the Washington County SPCA needs your help now.
- Pet overpopulation is a human problem! Only 13% of our intakes come to us spayed/neutered, and only 15% of strays are ever reclaimed. We provide spay/neuter vouchers and low cost microchipping. People are making the conscious choice NOT to do the right thing. Until owners take this seriously and take steps to address overpopulation at its source we need YOUR support to handle the animals no one wants.
- We can no longer rely on cities with stricter spay/neuter laws to take our unwanted animals. Due to overpopulation problems creeping into these areas during the pandemic, our ability to transport animals to adoption partners has decreased 66% since 2019.
- The WCSPCA is contracted to operate the city pound. However, our contracts only cover 60% of the costs incurred by the impound facility. This is a health and safety public service, keeping stray and potentially dangerous animals off the streets, that the WCSPCA is subsidizing for the City of Bartlesville.
- We do our best to provide quality medical care to animals who come to us sick and injured. Last year we reached an 89% save rate! We also spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip and test for common diseases. Last year we spent $146,000 on medical care for our community's animals. YOUR donations made that possible
