Building a Safer, Healthier Community: One Paw at a Time
Your support saves lives, protects public health, and strengthens our community.
At the Washington County SPCA, our mission extends far beyond rescuing and adopting animals. We are dedicated to creating a safer, healthier, and humane community for all. Through comprehensive programs and services, we work tirelessly to care for homeless animals, prevent the spread of vaccine treatable diseases, control the pet population, and assist first responders with animals in need. Your support is crucial in sustaining and expanding these vital efforts.
Sheltering and Adoption: We serve thousands of animals each year, providing a place to reconnect with their owner, vaccines, medical care, spay/neuter, and adoption services. Our Community Cat Program has fixed nearly 100 cats since late 2023, reducing the stray cat population in Bartlesville.
Community Safety: By managing stray populations and ensuring pets are vaccinated, we help reduce the spread of vaccine preventable diseases like parvovirus, distemper, panleukopenia, and rabies. Our free vaccine and microchip clinics, along with low-cost spay/neuter clinics, significantly impact public health and the pet population in our community.
First Responder Partnerships: We collaborate with first responder agencies to care for animals at accident scenes, fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters, saving lives and supporting local law enforcement.
Education and Outreach: Through school programs and community events, we promote responsible pet ownership and the benefits of adopting from shelters.
The Challenge: In 2024, we received a $75,000 matching grant from Petco Love. To secure the full $150,000 potential of this grant by the end of the year, we need your help to meet our quarterly fundraising goals. We fell short of our 2nd quarter goal by $1,774.
Your donation helps cover our operational costs, supporting our mission to provide refuge and medical care to all animals entering the shelter and ensure that they are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, given medical care, and microchipped before going home. With sufficient funds for operations, we can focus on securing grants for our community outreach programs.
By supporting WCSPCA, you’re investing in a healthier, safer community for everyone. Your support saves lives, protects public health, and strengthens our community.
Together, we can achieve remarkable things. Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
